I ran for State Senate in North Carolina in 2024,

and I ran as Kate Bar can't win.

So basically I announced my loss the day that I filed to run for office,

and the whole campaign was a protest against gerrymandering.

Jerrymandering is basically when the people in power carve up our voting maps in order to preserve their power.

And North Carolina is either the most gerrymandered state in the country or one of the most gerrymandered states in the country,

depending on which metrics you're using. And basically what happens, just from a numbers perspective,

is you have a census every 10 years. We all know that document that comes in the mail and you fill it out. And

our Constitution requires a headcount of all of the citizens of the United States. And then

we are supposed to vote in roughly equally sized voting districts for both the U.S US House of Representatives and for our state
