On this week’s episode, Beth and Wendy discuss La Madrina, the Black Widow, the Cocaine Godmother and the Queen of Narco-Trafficking, Griselda Blanco. She was a Colombian drug lord of the Medellín Cartel, and a pioneer in the Miami-based cocaine drug trade and underworld for decades. It has been estimated that she was responsible for more than 200 murders while transporting cocaine from Colombia to New York, Miami and Southern California. She was shot and killed on September 3, 2012, at the age of 69. Blanco grew up in Medellin Colombia during La Violencia. She witnessed violence and death on the daily and was the victim of severe abuse at a young age. We discuss her early life and her rise to power as The Cocaine Godmother. There are an infinite number of rumors and stories about La Madrina and we touch on those. We get into the setting, the timeline, her arrest, and where they are now.
