0:05.3

the Bible, and culture and give you honest, practical advice you can trust. This is a space to ask

0:10.5

anything and get real answers for real life. We're glad you're here. Now let's get into today's

0:16.0

episode. Hi, guys. Welcome back to this week's episode of the D-Reefe. It is the season of love.

0:21.5

And obviously, I am not Tammy Brown. I am her daughter, your daughter. But love made you. Yes, love made you. I'm Madison Moses, and I'm hosting the debrief this week, which is super fun. Okay, let's get right in there. All right. Kalin from Riverside says, what does God say about people who have kids without being married?

0:39.3

Is the person who have kids without

0:38.5

being married? Is the person you have kids with, someone you should stay with, even if you aren't sure

0:43.3

that God intended them to be your husband or wife? Yeah, that's a great question, Kailen. And so obviously

0:48.4

for everybody listening, the best thing to do is wait to have sex until you're married, because that's

0:53.6

God's word, that's God's plan, so that we don't get in predicaments like this, where we really are in these moral dilemmas, and Scripture doesn't specifically speak to the issue. And so what I would say is, let's start with the end of her question, Madison. She said, even if you aren't sure God intended them to be your husband or wife. And so I would just say a couple of episodes, right? We had that whole question on soulmates and, you know, people finding their person. And what I would say is if you miss that episode, God gives us a blueprint for the kind of person he wants to marry. So Proverbs 31. He doesn't give us a blueprint for the exact

1:27.9

person that he wants us to marry. And really that idea comes from the Catholic Bible,

1:33.7

the Apocrypha, which means hidden, the hidden books. It's not a part of our Protestant Bible.

1:38.8

And in that, there is a book called Tobith. And Tobith literally is this person who ends up marrying a girl who was married

1:46.6

like six times. And yeah, a demon kills her husband's on their wedding night every single night.

1:51.6

I know. All the Protestant kids are like, what? And it's not until he comes that she's able to

1:57.0

be married and the curse is lifted. And so I said Tobith, Tobit, sorry. T and Th in Hebrew are

2:05.5

very, very close. And so I just, but the English pronunciation is Tobit, not Tobith. So if you're

2:11.1

looking for that, that's where that idea comes from. So what we need to think about, Kalen, is the kind of

2:16.4

person that God intended us to marry.

2:18.8

And so is this father of your children?

2:21.3

Is he the kind of man that God would want you to marry?

2:24.3

And we need to remember, Kalen, two wrongs don't make a right.
