All right now, first of all, I guess we ought to ask, since you were chairman of the Republican

Party, about the Republican presidential race in 2020, will there actually be a Republican primary in 2020?

You know, one of the things that people miss are the rules of the two committees of the

Democratic Committee and the Republican Committee and the Republican

and the Republican National Committee's nomination is theirs and that's the way the law

sees it the Supreme Court won't touch it. It's a process that that you can go in front of

judges but most of them will not touch primaries.

So very seldom will you ever see much of a contest with a sitting president.

So the party can do what it wants. It can. And the

national party can. Now each party has different rules. So it's really, really

hard when you've got a president, which the day they win the nomination nomination they own the Republican National Committee.

That's how you see it. That's how I saw it when I was on the committee and I had the

pleasure being on there with George Bush. So the rules that come into play are how you get on the ballots, ballot access, and each state's different.
