And today, we're bringing you the second to last episode in our ongoing series, Charles Manson's Hollywood. A lot of people remember the Manson murders, which took place the weekend of August 8th, 1969, as being the end of the 1960s. But the very next weekend, the decade and its

associated counterculture, had perhaps their brightest shining moment when

thousands of hippies descended on Woodstock, New York,

for a free concert that sent the message to much of Straight America that maybe something

positive could come out of this youth movement after all.

Meanwhile, on Spawn Ranch,

the Manson family spent the weekend of August 15th, 1969, facing down existential threats.

On Friday night, a delegation from the Biker gang,

The Straight Satan's, showed up on Spawn Ranch,

determined to liberate Danny DeCarlo, the gang's treasurer.

Danny had been living on the ranch for a while, and he had learned too much about what

Charlie and his family had been up to.

And now, according to Di Carlo,
