For this week's clinical file,

we have Marade, and Marade is recovering from a total hip arthroplasty and reports mild calf discomfort on the second day post-surgery. On examination, there is no significant swelling or

redness, but the patient has a resting heart rate of

105 beats per minute, which of the following interventions is most appropriate to reduce the risk of

DVT or deep vein thrombosis. So we have A, initiate ambulation with a walker, B, apply ice packs to the calf, C, administer ankle pumps, and

quad sets, and D is perform a homin's test to confirm DVT. All right, let's go up to the top of this

question. We've done DVT questions before or questions about this topic. This is a major thing on the MPTE because it's a safety related question.
