Hey Deservant Mereliveness, today's episode is a continuation of the second campaign in which we are playing Dungeons and Dragons on the Psychology and Seattle podcast.

this uh... dand d series dudgeon and Dragons series is a effort to demonstrate for people how you can

use Dungeons and Dragons in a way to help people in therapy at school, at home to improve their social skills, to improve their self-esteem,

to improve their bonding with other people, to explore their own identities.

So what would and what we're doing here is we're having Adam Johnson, Adam Davis from

game to grow who are experts in this type of work. Adam Davis, can you give us a rundown on Game to Grow?

Yes, Game to Grow is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in the Greater Seattle Area.

What we're most well known for is our Dungeons and Dragons

based therapeutic social skills groups for kids and teens.

So we serve almost 80 kids every week

in therapeutic social skills groups using

Dungeons and Dragons where our game masters have some degree of therapy

training where we're using the game. The in-game scenario is

really targeted to build real world areas of social growth.

So we have many of our players come to us with some degree of social isolation or lagging social

skills and we can use the game to help them become more confident, more capable and more socially capable.
