Hello and welcome to gayest episode ever, the podcast in which we discuss the LGBTQ episodes of classic sitcoms.

And this is a momentous occasion for gayest episode ever.

It's the first time and also the last time that we are featuring

both hosts of Talking Simpsons together, Henry Gilbert and Bob Mackay. Am I pronouncing that

correctly? It's McKay, actually. Only if you're mad at me, do you call me Bob McKay?

Okay. So thank you for the first and last time. We're getting both of you at the same time.

Wow, man, that's crazy. Yeah, we have, we've only been separate on here. But, but enough with the chittin' chatting, as I would say. Because you guys are kind of the reason our podcast exists, and we've mentioned this many, many times on the show, it made sense for us to do an episode with both of you for our last season.

a sort of gay episode, which we will have to discuss in all the ways that it achieves and

fails to be a gay episode. Yeah, I would say about two minutes of this could classify as a gay

episode, but despite the amount of Rye ribald content in Duckman, not a formally gay episode to be found in its 70 episode run.

Which is weird. I wonder if, like, was USA homophobic? I don't really know why this wasn't like something they didn't hit any harder than they did.

Because they seem to like to poke sensitive topics, and they do in this episode just plenty yeah i am i'm a little surprised at it too other

than like there are other jokes tons of jokes in the show of like a character jokingly calls

another character gay for whatever reason or i what one of the like uh at least three duckman

episodes we've covered on our podcast, the Cocktails for One, like, that starts with a good joke of they're going to meet Ajax's new girlfriend who he, her name is Tammy, but in his accent calls her Tommy and Duckman thinks he's gay. So like there's, that's an example of like a brief bit of homophobia as gay content in the show. But wait, back up. They got 70 episodes. Oh, yeah. Yes. Duckman has as many episodes as the original run of Futurama. It's crazy. Oh, my God. So this is something that I think people are going to be very shocked by when we get into this episode is that like our previous episode was about O Grow Up, which lasted for only 11 episodes before I got canceled. And it was like, this is the last time we're doing an obscure show. I'm sure there's a lot of people who are like, Duck, man. They're doing another obscure show. I'm like, not really.

You might think it's obscure listener at home, but this had a much larger pop culture footprint than you'd expect.
