Hi. So, uh, this is going to be a fairly emotional intro. I don't think I'm going to get too, uh, off kilter, but I'm going to talk about things that are very emotional to me, and we'll see what happens.

So there's your warning.

This is my farewell to David Lynch, and trigger warning, self-harm, suicide.

Very few people who have talked about why you've got to keep going or how you got to keep going

talk about it in a dark way it's already a very dark concept suicide self-destruction

whatever you want to call it and therefore the few people who actually talked about it

especially in cinema, well, they earned a special place with me.

And as somebody who bounced right off David Lynch because he was shown eraserhead by a film student and just said, as an A Fantagic, didn't know it at the time, that's such a fucking stupid movie, and just blew this person, like, you're so open. You're so, you accept, why didn't you like a razorhead? And I go, what's it about? And then they gave me some song and dance about, well, I don't want to say what they think it's about because maybe they're right.

And I went, okay, well, I think that's stupid. And I like Blue Velvet.

I didn't know it was David Lynch. And so, but Moon Velvet was a movie with dialogue and had a mystery.

And there was a character reveal that I was like, oh!

So then I got.

But in the early 2000s, right after the weird 99, it's the end of the world, every movie has the devil or Y2K or something like that in it.

There was in the early 2000s, I call it like the mini dark age of American cinema.

And I blame mostly the Matrix.

It's a switch between a couple of things.

It's the Matrix making so much money in CGI, Lord of the Rings as well, second place.
