I need the staff to step up and lead.

And then I need the staff to develop leaders.

And I have to develop leaders.

Because I've been in too many places where a coach comes in and says,

we don't have any leaders around here.

I think that's a bunch of BS, right?

You can develop leaders.

You can teach leadership.

I can teach leadership to the staff.

The staff can teach leadership to the players. We have to do that.

throughout the course of the day in terms of just how the team practiced, but also the way the guys

that are forefront of that leadership, you know, charge, the way they spoke about their character

and what football means to them. And the guys that Jeff Halfley and John Eric Sullivan have talked

about with the right makeup and the guys that they know they can count on to be those leaders.
