Yeah, so he is not like the other officers in the French Army.

So he's kind of from peasant stock.

He's not educated. He doesn't speak foreign languages, he's an odd

guy to have in the counter-espionage service. He has no special skills, but he kind of earns the trust and respect of his superiors.

So he's one of the people who gets really involved in the framing of Dreyfus. It's not hard to imagine a man like Jezebinri, getting very excited about news of espionage.
