Summary

Does God still use dreams to speak to us? As strange and bizarre as they seem at times? The bible is full of examples where God has used dreams to speak to his people. Guest speaker Jeannine Rodriguez-Everard uses these stories to lay out a biblical theology of dreams as well as an intro to interpretation.

Thank you so much. I am so excited to be here. I have had the privilege of coming to Portland

0:07.2

over a number of years since I think it was about 2007 to minister, to teach on the

0:11.5

prophetic, to teach on dream interpretation. And I've prayed, friends have prayed that

0:18.2

this night would happen, that this day would happen, that this weekend would happen. And

0:21.6

I cannot even tell you how wonderful it has been so far, and I'm super excited to be here

0:26.5

with you tonight too. I want to give you just a little bit of kind of background in my

0:31.4

own sort of story about dreams and dream interpretation. And I'll just say this, I don't

0:38.2

know how many of you came tonight knowing that we were to talk about dreams, but I fully

0:42.2

recognize like this isn't what we talk about in church, right? It's like, oh I'm going

0:46.8

to church and we're talking about dreams, like how weird is that? And I recognize it might

0:50.6

be weird for some of you, because it's not something that we necessarily really pay

0:55.0

a lot of attention to. So I'm just going to ask you to hear me out. There's going to

0:58.2

be loads of scripture as we are together tonight. But I first want to start out with just

1:03.5

some testimony. One of the ways that God has really uniquely gifted me is to teach both

1:09.9

from the word and also from testimony. So my own testimony about dreams is that from

1:15.3

a little girl, I've dreamt, and I've always remembered my dreams. And around age 10,

1:21.0

11, I just started being able to interpret my dreams. And I would wake up in the middle

1:26.8

in the morning, and I would go down to the breakfast table. And I would say to my mom,

1:31.8

mom, I had this dream last night. And I think maybe God is talking to me. And even though

1:37.2

my mother, nor I came from a Christian tradition that acknowledged dreams or understood them

1:42.6

or talked about them, amazingly, she would just look at me and she would listen to the

1:47.3

dream and she would listen to my interpretation. And she would just be like, you know what?
