Hey everyone, it's Corey H.M. Ted's Business Curator and this is Ted Business.

I'm filling in for a regular host, Medubek and Ola, for a couple of weeks bringing you some talks from 2021 that I really liked.

And today it's another talk from our countdown conference.

Now countdown was a conference that happened last year in Scotland and it was focused on the climate crisis.

Now the goal was not to induce panic, but to accelerate solutions.

It really was one of my favorite experiences of the year. It made me feel super hopeful.

This talk is by Jim Hogman-Snowbay, chairman of one of the largest shipping companies in the world.

And it's about transforming his business to be greener.

Now I'm a huge supply chain buff.

I love thinking about all of these products floating around, traveling across the globe,

coming together to become my washing machine or my car or my couch.

I think it's really neat.

But you might be thinking, what am I going to learn from a talk about shipping?

I'd say there are three big things.

First of all, it's an inside look into how this specific industry is actually going to change.

It's no easy task. It's not like you flip a switch.

But it's also about how you lead when you might not have all the answers.

You don't know how to get this thing done.

And lastly, it's about a strategy to tackle really big goals,

which can be as useful for a CEO or manager as it is for anyone who might want to change big things in their lives.

Tis the season of New Year's resolutions after all.
