I don't think you have to do things for money anymore. Correct. What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to the Laker Filmroom podcast. I'm Pete, joined by Darius. I hope everybody had a nice long weekend. Now, I think the overriding topic, the main topic of this off-season D has been the Lakers didn't really do anything roster wise

and in sort of talking through the details of different trade options and now that we have a

little more freedom to talk about specifics there hasn't been a trade where we've really

landed on a yeah that's the one and there's this tension that between trying to win now, because obviously

you have LeBron James, and not having a lot in the way of future assets. And we've already

gotten some questions as we did on the mailbag that we did on Friday on when and how do you

start building toward the future. And obviously our instinct is to go, damn it,

we need to win now. But I don't want to act like that's not a valid question because it totally

is. So the ideal circumstance would be something that were to help us win now without sacrificing

a ton down the line. So in that vein, there's a future where this season at the trade deadline,

Golden State has not had a very good season. And this is the only future in which this hypothetical

works. But they haven't had a good regular season. in 10th place the team does not look like a

team that's going to compete for a championship we are where we are we look good as a team right

we know we don't quite have on the lakers end what we need to get all the way but the teams in

good shape reddick's done a good job of organizing us.
