You got to widen the lens. What does this home run mean?

Let's start out with Forte and the headline would be if you thought he was the best horse going into the race, drawing the 15 spot.

I don't think that does anything to help or hurt. I think Forte, along with Angel of Empire, who's the Brad Cox horse I like, 14 and 15 stacked right next to each other.

Similar running styles. I think they're going to be kind of attached at the hip for lack of a better term in this race.

I think they want the same thing. I think they're going to run the same style. I don't think being 14 and 15 forces them to be more forward or shuffle back.

I think they're going to be able to navigate a couple different kinds of trip here. Forte with the odds that were released by Mike Pataglia, three to one.

Angel of Empire. Price a little bit short for me was hoping for more. I think the secrets out. I mean, the horse keeps getting better.

He might be primed for a giant race here. Eight to one. I don't love it. I wanted something closer to 12 to one.

Maybe I was dreaming there. But look, if you think Forte is the best horse. If you think, hey, even though the figures don't tower above this field, he's still the best horse. That's fine.

You didn't get help. You didn't get hurt. I think he's fine in the 15 spot. I think the one thing that'll be interesting.

Is if you look at the Florida Derby race, I was at we talked about it. I wanted to take a shot at beating Forte. I thought, mage again, Jesus Christ, mage, could you leave the gate? We'll get to him later.

When you look at that race, Gulfstream Park has has what's called a short turn. So when they run the Florida Derby, the gate placement, it's a short distance to where they're going to hit the first turn.

Forte had drawn wide that day. He drew the 11 posts if memory serves me right. And they wanted to get out and go, and it couldn't get there. And I read Ortiz had to pull him back.

Shuffled him back, left himself a lot of work to do. And famously, I ranted on this now, least famous in my own mind. I just was pissed. Like, mage had that horse dead to rights if he fucking left the gate.

Period, amen, hallelujah. Well, the same situation, it's not quite the same. It's not distance wise. You have a little time to get over and grab yourself, you know, a ground saving trip.

But I think it's going to be interesting. You know, if they can't clear early and start to go over, you don't get a choice. You're going to be forced to shuffle back.

So I think they're going to get up. I think they will do everything in their power to stay more attached in this race.

Stalking trip, mid-pack ideal, dead stalker, maybe second of that.
