| 0:36.0 | I'm John B from gangreneation.com, and on today's show, we're going to focus on three prospects who should be on the Jets radar in the second round of the NFL draft. |
| 0:37.5 | There's a defensive back from the West Coast who does everything Aaron Glenn wants from a corner, except one thing. There's a wide |
| 0:42.9 | receiver from Texas A&M who could add some sorely needed playmaking ability to the Jets offense. |
| 0:48.3 | And there's a small cornerback from Indiana who does not play small. Now on this podcast over the |
| 0:53.9 | last couple of weeks, we've really focused on the first round of the NFL draft. There are lots of different directions that the Jets can go. And this will be a very consequential first round of the draft for the Jets since they have a pair of picks, the first of which comes second overall, where they will have a chance to add a blue chip playmaker. And it's 16 overall, where you still have a chance to get a great player. But this is also an important draft for the Jets because they have a pair of second round picks. They have their own second round pick, which is 33rd overall. It is the opening pick on day two of the draft. | 1:33.6 | So let's give the Jets three prospects to look at. |
| 1:36.5 | The first prospect I'm going to name might be familiar to you if you followed college football this year. |
| 1:41.5 | He played for the national champion Indiana Hoosiers. |
| 1:44.9 | It still sounds weird to say that Indiana Hoosiers are the national champions in college football, but it's true. |
| 1:50.2 | And of course, most of the glory went to Fernando Mendoza, their quarterback who won the Heisman |
| 1:54.8 | trophy and who was a virtual lock to go number one overall to the Raiders. But Indiana also had |
| 2:00.4 | a lot of other quality players. |
| 2:01.9 | One of them was DeAngelo Pons, who was a cornerback for them. |
| 2:06.4 | And I think if Pons had a normally sized frame, he'd be a first round pick. |
| 2:12.4 | In fact, he might be the number one corner off the board. |
| 2:15.1 | But most big boards have him going in the second rounds. And that's |
| 2:19.7 | because he's only 5.9 and 182 pounds. That's really small. That's about as small as you can get |
