Guys, today is Friday Fire. Sometimes it's Thursday, sometimes it's Friday Fire.

Really just depends on what we got going on. This isn't my day job, so to speak. But I do have something I wanna talk to you about.

If this is your first time listening, welcome. This is a podcast that is based around entrepreneurship.

It is based around the mentality of succeeding. It is based around what the hippie population would call self-help.

It kind of encompasses all of those things. Some people call it motivation. I don't know. I think it's more practical knowledge, mindset, information that you need to use in order to get yourself in a place mentally to be successful.

Whatever it is you do. The reason I say it's an entrepreneurial podcast is because you are the entrepreneur of you. You are the CEO of you.

And you should be the mother fucking CEO of you, which means you should go through life with confidence. You should go through life with swagger.

You should go through life feeling fucking good about who you are and what you stand for. That's what I wanna talk to you about. It leads right into what I wanna talk to you guys about today, which is being authentic.

I get tagged in a lot of posts and I do look at these tags and I go to people's pages and I see the things they are talking about and I see the posts they are making.

And I see a lot of people trying to emulate other personalities when trying to develop their own online personality. Guys, you're making a huge mistake. Being authentic, being real, being who you are is your competitive advantage.

You are unique, you are different, you have a different thought process, you have a different voice, you have a different way of communicating. And if you're true to that way, other people who are just like you will resonate with you.

If you go through life trying to be someone else or trying to pretend to be like someone else, what you're doing is basically becoming a watered down version, quote unquote the next best thing, which guys, that's not a recipe for success.

You can't be the next best anything and succeed. So I wanna talk to you a little bit about why this happens and where this comes from. When we're little, we've all had the children's books, right? The Dr. Seuss books. When I was little, I can remember reading Dr. Seuss books and the theme always was, be yourself.

But what happened when you went to school the next day, where you wanted to wear instead of what everyone else was wearing or what was cool. You get laughed at, you get made fun of, you get your ass stuffed at a locker.

And guess what guys, that doesn't feel very good. And so began the journey of conformity for us to avoid being criticized.

We worked to fit in, we worked to go unnoticed, we worked to blend in and become camouflage to society. And guys, that is the first thing that we start doing wrong.

We buffer down who we really are. We tone down our personality. We deny our true desires. We deny our true dreams. And we develop this alternate persona that isn't really us at all.

We lie to ourselves, our friends, our families about who we really are and what we really want in order to avoid the negative commentary that comes with standing out.

But think about the price paid to be safe and protected from all the little snickers and comments.

All the dreams you had will never be all the lessons that you could have learned. You'll never learn all the greatness that you could have achieved will never be achieved.
