Today you're going to have another treat with one of our most wonderful guests.

We've had a number lately, and this is a gentleman that I deeply

admire. His name is Ron F. Elfinbine, a real doctor. By that I mean he was for many years, 23 years

experience as an ER doc. I think you can't be more of a doc than to be an ER doc. And I'm making

him smile as I talk about that, folks. And I'm a psychiatrist and you can't be much further away from

being a real doc, although my wife, God blessers. I think that's unfair, at least to you.

You keep reminding me what a real doc I am.

And as an ER doc, fitting to its being a warlike situation, it's like you're on the front all day long.

My worst experiences as a medical student were being in the ER and having harassed ER doctors throwing patients in my direction,

whom I was wholly unqualified to do anything other than to sit and say. Would you like to chat

for a while? Never mind that your face is all cut and we don't have a plastic surgeon or a facial

surgeon here. I'm just to have to sit down and look like I'm, I've got to look as

impressive enough to be a surgeon because I'm about to sew up this poor lady's lip. I still,

I still have PTSD to that. I still remember that terrible experience of being told, basically,

you're a doctor with telling you what to do, you have to do it.

And my saying, I don't think I should be sewing up anybody's lip.

Period.

And I ended up sewing in, and God willing, I don't think she got terribly scarred from the sewing.

But I still remember that bad experience in the ER, not qualified to be an ER doc,

except maybe to help somebody calm down without getting a shot of HALDO.
