Summary

It's been a long time since I've had Dr. LePera on the show. Too long, in my opinion. Earlier this month, we got into a discussion that was equal parts practical and esoteric: what is the self? This was inspired by her newly released book, How To Meet Yourself. This was such an enjoyable conversation, and as always, I'm honored to have the chance to know and speak to the Holistic Psychologist herself! Listen in. Dr. Nicole LePera was trained in clinical psychology at Cornell University and the New School for Social Research. She also studied at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. As a clinical psychologist in private practice, Dr. Nicole LePera often found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional psychotherapy. Wanting more for her patients—and for herself—she began a journey to develop a united philosophy of mental, physical, and spiritual health that equips people with the tools necessary to heal themselves. Nothing short of a paradigm shift, Dr. Nicole LePera’s teachings empower the individual to break free from trauma cycles and create who they want to become. You might know her on Instagram or other social media platforms as the holistic

lifestyle and psychological wellness practices. She is the curator, or creator, sorry,

1:07.9

of the self-healers movement where people from around the world are joining

1:12.5

together in community to take healing into their own hands. So with all that said, what do we talk

1:20.3

about today? Well, she's got a new book out. She initially wrote a book called How to Do the Work,

conversation because Dr. Nicole and I actually get into a little bit of a philosophical, spiritual, existential conversation about what is the self?

2:08.3

And the way that we do that is by talking about these different modalities, how spirituality, how psychology, how the therapeutic modality looks at the concept of the self. And then what is the
