Hey, gang. Today I'm interviewing Dr. Kevin Brenner, who's a board certified general surgeon and

board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is also authored numerous chapters in plastic

surgery textbooks. He's an expert on breast surgery and many other medical topics. But today

we're really going to focus on breast implant illness, BII.

Many of you have heard of it. Some of you maybe you haven't, but this is, there's a growing

trend of women reporting various illnesses, right? Just feeling bad in lots of different ways and becoming

suspicious that their breast implants may be making them sick and then having what's called

explant surgery and then feeling a lot better. So it is a real phenomenon. And I wanted to interview

Dr. Kevin Brenner because he knows a lot more about this than me. And so Dr. Brenner,

thank you for taking the time this evening to jump on. Oh, it's my pleasure. Thanks for having

me on. Nice to chat with you. Yeah. And, you know, before we get into breast implant

illness, I should mention some of, some of my audience may know this from my first book, but there

is a type of cancer that's associated with breast implants. That's breast implant associated

anaplastic large cell lymphoma.

And there was just a new press release from the FDA that your team sent to me today.

So I'm giving full credit where I learned about this from.

Okay.

That they're now linking, there have been, I think, 19 confirmed cases that the FDA is aware of of a squamous

cell carcinoma in the scar tissue that forms around breast implants.

So that's concerning as well.

And I'd love to talk about that, the breast implant cancer connection.

And then we can talk about breast implant illness and explant surgery and that's kind of stuff
