And though many of us spend close to 20% of our lives or more in some sort of schooling,

we tend to end up completely ignorant of how to navigate the natural world

or recognize the intelligence within it.

We never learn to identify plants, how to forage for useful herbs and fungus, what grows

around us that is safe to eat, how to find or clean water, or really anything to help

us survive even a day in our own environment.

Sounds like a lot of wasted hours to me.

In fact, the extent of most Americans' knowledge of such things starts and stops with

how to keep a lawn

pristine and green at the risk of fines from the neighborhood HOA overlords, if they're lucky

enough to have a lawn at all. It seems that if it doesn't hook you deeper into the indoctrination

of a meaningless materialist reality, a fictionalized human evolution story, the shackles of a

debt-based currency model, system
