Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!
Join Pip and producer Buddy Peace in a 'quincentenary' celebration as the podcast reaches episode 500! PART 1 of 2!
Pip and myself don't often sit down and recount the archives of the Distraction Pieces Podcast in an official capacity. We might refer back to episodes here and there, or talk in a bizarre shorthand only decipherable by us about certain prior events and occurances in the past. But this time we sat down and recorded a whole epic feature length episode of us doing the damn thing and here is part 1 of the double drop!
It was a pleasure and delight, and a real treat to give some context to this ongoing project which drops every Wednesday (and sometimes more), and find a space to stop, check in, celebrate, be still for a moment and look at what's happened over the years. Turns out A LOT HAS HAPPENED. But you would expect that right? So here it is, the first of two full conversations with me (Buddy Peace) and Pip, peppered with comments and questions from listeners throughout. This could even be a good first listen for some folks if they haven't heard it before, actually - definitely a huge amount of "Oh I'm listening that THAT one straight after this" type stuff.
Enjoy, and huge love to you all for being with us and supporting the Distraction Pieces Podcast. Love ya. XXX
PS: I looked up 'quincentenary' and everything.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is the distraction pieces podcast episode 500. Man, that's kind of mad, right? |
| 0:12.6 | Been putting out a podcast every week, at least one episode every week for 500 episodes. |
| 0:22.0 | Absolute madness. Obviously, thank you, everyone for tuning in. I wanted to sit down for this episode. |
| 0:30.9 | People were saying for ages, you got anything big planned, you got special guests. I was like, yeah, |
| 0:35.2 | I've got Buddy Peace, who's been the man behind these podcasts, behind the audio that you hear this whole time. |
| 0:44.2 | And I wanted as someone who has listened to every episode, however, as a listener or in his role as producer, |
| 0:52.7 | I wanted to sit down with Buddy and just reflect upon it all. And sure enough, it turned into a two-part |
| 0:57.9 | because 500 episodes is a lot, man, but I really enjoyed it. And I hope you all enjoy this and give |
| 1:04.2 | this a listen. We talk a little bit about how big names obviously get more downloads. And we could |
| 1:11.6 | have gone for some big name for episode 500. But I wanted to talk about what we've achieved here, |
| 1:17.6 | because it is mad. This is an independent podcast. Every guest has been booked by me. |
| 1:26.1 | Every bit of audio has been recorded by me. And then Buddy Peace has mastered all of them. I mean, |
| 1:31.6 | we talk about Warren as well. Warren Borg was the original producer for the first 60 or so. |
| 1:38.4 | We share everyone out on the episode. It's been a small team from day one. And in a time when |
| 1:44.8 | podcasts have blown up, again, you got to remember as well that when we're repeating everything that |
| 1:49.2 | we say in the episode, anyway, I'm going to shut up. Just thank you to everyone involved and |
| 1:54.2 | everyone who's listened and everyone who shouts about it. Word of mouth until pod Bible came about, |
| 2:00.3 | well, word of mouth is legit. The way podcasts have grown from day one. So you guys, if you've |
| 2:08.3 | ever mentioned this podcast to anyone, you're a key part of how we're still here and still putting |
| 2:14.9 | out episodes every week. So thank you. You can support the podcast us, us, celebrate episode 500. |
| 2:22.4 | You know, if you always hear this bit and don't go over there, head to speechdevelopmentrecles.com. |
| 2:27.2 | And by a little bit of merch, in celebration, if you can, or patreon.com forward slash |
