All right, I don't have to admit, this is one I was really looking forward to.

My guest today, in person, no less, the one and only Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Doris, of course, is the author of some of the most influential history books in recent memory

think team of rivals bully pulpit wait till next year and she of course has a new book out it's called

an unfinished love story a personal history of the 60s the The book is one part history, one

part biography, and of course one part memoir. That's because her

subject in the book is both the 1960s and her late husband Dick Goodwin.

Dick was famously brought into history when he worked for John F. Kennedy, a very young John

F. Kennedy, while Doris spent time working with Lyndon Baines Johnson, which she talks about in my conversation

with her. They've had a fascinating 46 year debate about Kennedy versus Johnson in the 60s.

You will really enjoy this conversation and the book is terrific.
