It is 5.30 in the morning, and you know exactly what that means.

Your friend would be calling just like she always does and rub it in.

You missed her run for the second time this week.

And instead of simply texting you now, she usually knocks on your door. Sure, it can

be a good way to actually wake up on time and put on your running shoes, but it was definitely

not the best experience. But she was already 50 minutes late, so maybe it finally got to her and

decided to go alone out of spite.

You feel terrible about it, still.

There isn't that much you can do about it now, so you decide to go back to sleep.

About 20 minutes later, you receive a text message.

It is your friend.

Is everything all right? She asked.

You at least owe her a message back, so you reply.

I overslept, sorry.

She replies immediately with a confused emoji and the question,

What are you talking about?

You simply left.

She told you that she had stopped by your house,

that you joined her on your morning run, and then you told you that she had stopped by your house, that you joined her on your morning run,

and then you told her that you were trying out a different route and left abruptly, leaving

your friend behind that morning.
