We are discussing the 1993 Drew Barrymore film Doppelganger.

A film that is a first time watch for both of us, but also, I mean, this doesn't seem to be that well known of a film. No, no. And folks, you will quickly realize that no one seems to know much of anything about this because there's no information about this movie out there. Not really. And, you know, I would get it if it was a huge piece of, like, there's a total, well, I'm sorry, it is a total mess. But it was a total piece of shit. And like, everyone should be embarrassed by this. But I don't know, man. I'm just going to come out and say this. I had a lot of fun with this movie. Oh, Trace, this movie is my new personality. I'm in love with this movie. I need there to be a deluxe boutique, you know, 4K

release of this movie. We need to dig everything up. We need oral histories. Like, people need

to be digging into this movie because it is such a fucking weird little curiosity.

Okay. So question for you though, because I, we had both heard, oh, the ending of doppelganger is like, is absolutely wild? And we both shared a concern where it's like, okay, well, is it just the ending that's wild? So we got to get through, you know, an hour and 30 minutes because it's an hour and 45 minute movie. Right. To get there. Or did you find yourself like kind of marveling at some of the bizarre choices made throughout the film

leading up to the finale. Oh no, it's all the way through. Like this is what, huh? Okay,

curious, weird. And then you get to the ending and you're like, no, what the fuck? Like,

folks, I cannot recommend you checking this movie out and up. But I will say, I'm very biased because this is giving early lifetime feels to me. Like, this is giving made for television movie for me.

It is. And so my husband had actually seen this. He rented this a lot when he was a kid. So when I said we were covering this, he was like, oh my God.

Because he hadn't seen it in a while, but he was like, I just remember how absolutely

wild it is.
