My name is Will DeFries and this is a Sunday Scaries podcast, your cure for the Sunday Blues.

My therapist once told me, Will, you worry.

That's your thing.

Since that moment, I've attempted to do what I assume she wants me to do, which is

worry less.

However, as valid as her statement was, this has instead just made me aware of my worrying

rather than help me suppress it.

And for as long as I can remember, I've worried about anything that feels out of my control.

I'd stress before the away bus left for our middle school ski meets because I wouldn't

know where I'd put my boots on.

I'd crumble on the first day of school because I didn't know the ins and outs of my new

classroom.

And I even get anxious going to restaurants that don't require reservations these days because

I don't want to have to sit outside for an hour before my meal starts.

So while I have gotten a little more under control when it comes to this, this still flares

up every once in a while.

Not an abilitating way by any means, but it's still present.

This has popped up twice in the last month, and it's to no one's fault but my own.

For the last two out of three weekends, I've found myself doing something I love and that

seeing friends in the city that they've made their home, sleeping in their guest room,

treating their houses my own for a few days, and probably annoying them a little bit in the

process.
