Hello, good friends. Good to see you again, and welcome back to the Bill Press

P. Well, you know, for a man who campaigned for president, promising to put America first,

stop endless foreign wars, and forget about any regime change. Donald Trump has suddenly

moved in the opposite direction. He's spending most of his time on foreign policy, whining and

dining at least one foreign leader in the White House almost every week, and it's not all

friendly. In the last two weeks alone, he adopted a new administration

policy asserting the absolute power of the United States over any other country in our sphere

of influence. In keeping with that so-called Don Roe doctrine, he invaded Venezuela, seized its

oil tankers on the high seas, and kidnapped

its president and first lady and whisked them off to a Brooklyn prison. He followed that up by

warning Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico that they could be next, even suggesting that Marco Rubio

might be the new president of Cuba. He reasserted his plans to take over Greenland

by military force if necessary, and he's threatened to intervene in Iran in support of protesters

rallying against the Iranian government. All of that, we might add, without any consultation

or support of Congress.

Yep, it looks like foreign policy run amok, which led us today to invite back on the podcast,

National Security expert Joe Sirencioni, former head of the Plowshares Fund, to try to put it all in perspective.
