I can commission on the Supreme Court and other courts is meeting today for the first time its meeting in secret

It's not supposed to meet in secret, but we will be able to observe subsequent meetings

Let's see what they recommend. Will they recommend court packing? Will they follow with some democratic leaders in the House and Senate are asking for four additional

Justices on the Supreme Court? Will they split over that issue? Will they recommend term limits? Will they recommend mandatory retirement ages? Will they recommend packing the lower courts?

According to a New York Times report the Biden commission on the Supreme Court and on reforms of the judiciary

is having its first preliminary meeting today

It's an inauspicious start because according to the Times the meeting

is being held in secret and the commission is supposed to conduct all of its business

in public and open so we can see it and review it and evaluate it

This is supposed to be simply a meeting that deals with format and agenda, but

I can imagine some important things will be discussed

I can even imagine some people on the commission expressing great chagrin about the fact that leading members of the Senate and Congress

have introduced a bill packing the court

adding for justices who had even waiting for the report of the commission. What an insult

both to President Biden and to the members of the commission. We know what we want

We know we're going to pack the courts. So why do we need a commission to study it?

That I guess is the view of some of the senators and congressmen who introduced the resolution to expand the court

to 13
