scripture is Luke chapter 8 verse 12 and it says this the seeds that fell on the footpath

represent those who hear the message only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them

from believing and being saved. The devotional is titled, Seeds of Ruin and it

says, it can be disheartening to see people or leaders we look up to

It's more likely that the decisions they made were the result of seeds they sewed into their character, seeds of pride, selfishness, lust,

jealousy, love of money, or hatefulness. It's even more shocking when it happens in the church.

In the Bible, I often think of leaders like Sampson,

whose weakness to Delilah led him to losing his strength,

the Lord leaving him,

and ultimately his death.

Or someone like Moses, who courageously

led God's people out of slavery,

but made a poor decision to not obey God. His choice prevented him from making it to the

promise land. These seeds of ruin they sewed into their lives had serious repercussions.

Wow. We often missed the point of how crucial it is that we sew seeds into our

lives that will produce a healthy harvest rather than contaminate it.
