Well, that would be a great way to live, we think. And yet, that's not always

God's way. As a matter of fact, we're studying the example of a very godly woman, a woman by the

name of Hannah in 1 Samuel chapter 1, where the Bible says that the Lord had shut up a womb. He says it

twice in verse 5 and again in verse six. And then in verse seven we

read, and as he did so year by year when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her.

Therefore she wept and did not eat. So this is going on for a long period of time. There are years

that have gone by without any answer to prayer.

And to make it worse, not only is she not getting her prayer answered immediately, but now people are

mocking her. The Bible uses the word here, her adversary. She has somebody that is in her face about it,

doesn't have a child who is this adversary I personally believe in the

immediate context of the adversary is this woman named Panaina who was the

other wife of Elkanah and she has lots of children and lots of sons and daughters and life is good for her.

You know, it's easy sometimes when you have your prayers answered.

To think when somebody else isn't getting their prayer answered, something must be wrong with them.

Be very careful about what you say at those junctures.
