When my daughter tapeth of her spoke I was ecstatic and so was my wife. I was getting worried as

she'd hit that age and every day that passed and she didn't just didn't speak. It was one more day

of anxiety. Fast forward three and a half years and it was my job to explain to tapeth

what had happened to her mother. I'd left it for a few days not knowing how to explain it.

I've been sucking myself up but I couldn't do that to her so I couldn't tell.

I couldn't tell her that her mother was gone. So on a quiet evening I sat with her watching TV.

She said, can Airica stay? Who? I asked. She pointed to a right to the empty space on the floor next to her.

There's a reflection of my own childhood and a tingle of fear crept up my back like

a wayward hand is going for the throat. I smiled back at her, the only person I knew that could help.

My sister Tammy wasn't loved by my mother. I didn't understand that at the time my father had been

in a car accident. He had been driving back from work late. I remember the days that my dad argued.

Her asking if he could do less hours. He said he needed to do them but there would be no one else who could.

Now my dad loved Tammy even more than me I think. He didn't like that she slept on the floor next

to my bed but mom insisted. I'm not getting that thing up bad my mom said once. So I allowed that I

could hear it to the floor. I cut my hands over Tammy's ears and whispered to her that everything would

be fine. He'd fallen asleep and drifted off the motorway. They speculated that he woke when he hit

the rumblescripts on the side of that hard shoulder. There were 60 feet of skid marks that we've

from left to right until his vehicle lost all momentum instantly. We didn't see that after that.
