I'm Jacob Jarvis and joining me today is author of The Future of Trust and oh god what now, regular Ros Taylor. Hi, Ros. Hi, Roszie. The story of the moment seems to be

discussions around benefits and the potential of there being some variety of U-turn on PIP or something

like that. Do you think at this moment a change of course does feel like it's inevitable?

I don't think there'll be a change of course. I think it's more likely to be a trimming of the

sales. Because Rachel Reeves is very, very keen to cut benefits in some form. And there is no doubt

that the aspect of the benefit bill, which is going up fastest, is

disability benefits and associated payments.

And that's the real problem that we have at the moment, and that is what is really dividing

the Labour Party.

Although I would say dividing, I mean, it's a bit more complicated than that, because I don't

think any Labour MPs like cutting benefits for disabled people, but some of
