We are having many things shared with us week to week.

ask you to think about the last time you heard someone say, don't judge me. Have you heard someone say that? Now when someone says that, what is your

impression of what they're really trying to say? It's always felt at me like when someone says don't judge me.

First of all they're angry that they're feeling condemned or criticized or ridiculed or perhaps even scrutinized in some way.

There's that part of it, but there's also the sins in which they're saying,

don't look too closely at my life.

I don't want you in my business. I don't want you telling me that what

I'm doing is not best or is not right. Isn't that really what's being said? And we do hear that phrase, periodically, in our

culture. We hear it in the church. People who profess to believe in Jesus Christ

saying, don't judge me.
