Smith and Kelly Black. Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into

Leviticus 19 verse 16. So as a teenager, I was part of my high school's soccer team. And while

I had been playing since I was seven, I still was not very good. And I just, I desperately wanted to fit in with a more talented and popular girls. And I took Homec with a few of my teammates. And one day during a lull in class, someone started gossiping about another player on our team who wasn't present. And I unfortunately joined in. I secretly

just felt relieved not to be the one that they were gossiping about. Then about a minute into our

gossiping, one of the other girls who'd been quietly sitting there said, you guys, we shouldn't

be talking about her like this. And immediately a wave of shame washed over me. I realized that among these girls who

weren't Christians, I should have been the one to stop the gossip. Instead, I had been feeding it

right along with everyone else. God told his people, quote, thou shalt not go up and down as a tailbearer

among thy people.

In other words, don't gossip.

Think of how it must hurt God to see his children speaking unkindly of each other.

I learned that day that no matter how socially awkward it may be,

I will always stand up against gossip.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, don't gossip.
