Summary

On this Unfiltered, I'm joined by a 40-year-old woman who opens up about getting divorced after 15 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart. She shares how their relationship changed over time and how they were able to end things on positive terms. We hear what it was like to be independent for the first time ever in her mid-thirties and how she processed the divorce by moving to LA and taking time to heal. Finally, we hear what it was like dating for the first time and what's been going on with the relationship she has been in for the past year.

life after divorce and being a 40-year-old single in Los Angeles. There's so much in your

0:36.7

story that I'm really excited to get to, but I also first just want to say, I feel like you, this is our first time like talking face to face, though we're not face to face for everyone else, but I feel like you've been a constant in seeing other people for so long. Like you're somebody I always like see I'm with and I've just like I've seen your

name come up and I just want to first of all thank you for that. But second of all, it makes it so

0:58.8

much more special that we're talking now and that I really get to hear your story. So I'm really

1:03.2

excited that you're here. Yeah, you did me a solid through the pandemic. I really needed you.

1:08.3

So I'm very happy that I stumbled across the podcast. It was

1:12.9

amazing for me. And here we are. Fast forward a few years later. So okay. You know what? This is great.

1:21.5

What happened during the pandemic that you needed me? I think I was just kind of bored.

1:31.8

It was one of those one of those things that I had been laid off and of course it was unexpected. I don't think anyone really knew what life

1:38.8

was going to be and was living in limbo. And I realized that I didn't have a lot of hobbies that I had used to have

1:48.0

and then also with the world being kind of shut off I was alone, you know, single and I had moved to

1:57.6

L.A. in September of 2018 and then had relocated to a different part of town in the fall of 2019.

2:10.0

So I hadn't really had a chance to establish sort of a social network.

2:14.8

So I don't have family out in L.A.

2:17.1

So it was really just kind of figuring out like,

2:20.0

gosh, I'm kind of boring. I think we all have a moment of that in our lives or maybe like once
