Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Judges 16, verse 16.

When Samson was a child, the Lord blessed him in many ways, especially physical strength.

As a young man, he faced down a lion and

killed it with his bare hands. He later killed a thousand Philistines using the jawbone of a donkey.

That must have been a strong donkey. He was a very blessed man who seemed invincible. So how did he

die in infamy at a young age? It began with a beautiful woman

named Delilah whom Sampson loved. Unfortunately for Samson, Delilah had been bribed by the

Philistines to find out the source of his strength so they could destroy him. Delilah asked

Samson where his strength came from once and he wouldn't tell. She asked again, and he wouldn't tell.

But Delilah wasn't discouraged. The scriptures say she pressed him daily with her words and urged him so that his soul was vexed unto death.

Samson was fully aware of what Delilah was doing, yet he didn't separate himself from her.

He allowed Delilah to tempt him day in and day out until Samson finally told her the secret of his strength,

which ended in his death. Are we ever guilty of hanging out with temptation? Do we go to websites

or follow people on social media or watch movies we know aren't good for us simply because they

look good? Today might be a good day to consider which temptations we need to kick out the door.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, don't flirt with temptation.
