Hey, good morning. I'm Ali Velshi.

It is Saturday, April the 12th, day 83 of the second Trump administration.

And even though it sort of feels like it's been a year this week, it's been 10,000 years since the Dyerwolf. Those of you have watched the Game of

Thrones know what dire wolves are. They were on the earth many thousands of years ago, kind of like

this little guy right here, except a lot bigger and a lot heavier and a lot more menacing.

Now, until Monday, the last of its kind was seen, as I said, more than 10,000

years ago. But they're back. The dire wolf is, quote, de-extinct. Scientists have said that

this is going to be the, well, they're from a company called colossal bioscientists. They say that they have

successfully brought back the dire wolf and that it's the first animal to be, quote, resurrected

from extinction. They're little puppies there. The news of the return of the dire wolf will be the

cover story of the upcoming issue of Time magazine. It's got the word extinct on it, and then it's crossed out.

The New Yorker also published a big feature about it this week.

It was also shared widely on social media.

This is amazing stuff.

Until you get a little deeper into the story,

because while colossal biosciences,

a company that's trying to bring back

the woolly mammoth says that it's de-extincted the dire wolf, some reporters did a little bit
