All the more so, this week as we careen into the last dwindling twilight days of the

2020 election campaign cycle and hasten the moment when this wretched tire fire finally concludes.

Let's do that.

This week, I am talking to the outsiders.

I'm talking to people running for president who are not in the Republican or Democratic Party.

I'm doing it because I think some of the most fascinating ideas, ideas that aren't just

optimizing some consensus position, but ideas that change the whole paradigm tend to come from the outside.

They tend to come from the edges, from the periphery, from you know standing at the edge and looking

into the abyss.

It's those people swimming in the darkness. They're the ones I think that come up with a really interesting ideas.

And then people like me take them and claim we came up with them. And then we get plagiarized by some guy running for Congress.

That's what I think might very well be the ecosystem of ideas that frequently happens.

I don't know that it actually starts at the top and works its way out. I think a lot of the time the edges has more impact than people know.

And today I'm going to talk to Don Blankenship, but I want to back into this interview. I want to

to contextualize this for you a little bit. Don Blankenship is the presidential nominee for the

Constitution Party, which is regarded as an extremely

conservative third party or a minority party.

But you may have already known one of the biggest pop culture, can we call politics pop culture if we can, and I sadly think we can now,

one of the biggest pop culture contributions within the political

sub-sphere over the last few years, that came from Don Blankenship, and you're gonna it's the very last I'm gonna play this ad for you this is when he was running for Senate as a Republican
