how are you doing jeff you know i listen to every episode man i'm really thrilled to be on thanks for

having me of course of course and i'm thrilled to be talking with you um angels fans have to be

as thrilled as anybody on the planet right now. They got to keep Shohei Otani for

another couple more months. They've had a really good 24 hours. They added Lucas Golito and

Shoay Otani through his first complete game shutout earlier today and has already homered in the

second game of the double header. Yeah, that bum went 0 for five in the first game. So I don't

know what everybody's so excited about. But this is a big moment. I've insisted all along, Jeff, that bum went 0 for five in the first game. So I don't know what everybody's so excited about.

But this is a big moment. You know, I've insisted all along, Jeff, that they were not going to trade Otani just because their only chance to retain Otani what was going to be to make the playoffs with him this year. And I think unless the Angels were 10, 11 games out of a playoff spot, they were never trading him. The surprise, though, is that they were aggressive yesterday going out and getting Gio Leto.

And the guy, I think, might be the key to the deal, Renoldo Lopez, who's actually been very good the last month or so. And really since April has been kind of the reliever that we expected him to be. So given the needs both in the rotation and the bullpen, this is a kind of a perfect trade for the angels.

Yeah. And it's refreshing to say no, we're going to go for it. I like seeing that.

Always like seeing in that. Currently, the Angels sit three and a half games out of the wild card after their first game win.

They're already up five nothing in the nightcap here against the Tigers. It's early in that one.
