She is in the Portland, Oregon area,

and she is the chief range safety officer in an FI, a firearms instructor. Sorry, I always try to explain the internal jargon, firearms instructor. And she is the owner of her own company called

If it weren't for people like you, I wouldn't have a show. It would just be me talking for an hour and nobody would watch that, I'm afraid.

So your story revolves, the story you're going to tell today revolves largely around domestic violence.

Domestic violence is one of those things where I think there's a lot of misunderstanding and misconception about how it works, how the power dynamic works, how and how and why people stay in bad situations after everyone else around them thinks they should have bailed out. There's a lot to uncover it. It's a very sensitive topic.

So if you're listening to this and you have that in your history, just I want to give you sort of a

warning ahead of time. That's the main gist of the talk in case you don't want to listen to this,

but I think you probably should keep listening.

So Lisa, tell us, you're now in the self-defense world, you know, the kind of circles that me and John and Steph run in.

When all this stuff was going on in your past, I take it this was all.

None of that stuff was going on. You weren't a self-defense oriented person or a firearms instructor. That's correct. That came much, much later. Okay, so talk to us about these situations. I mean, you start with anything you want to start with. I'm going to let you kind of have free reign here. I don't have a script. I don't do a lot of pre-interview. So, um, kind of walk us through the earliest

things that went on and kind of how that went for you. Okay. Um, well, I guess the easiest thing for me

is just to lay out like a, a quick 10 second overview of everything and then

kind of go back chronologically.
