Today we're going to be talking about how to choose the right domain name strategy for your

Today we're going to cover the four primary domain name strategies for blogs.

Before we get into the strategy, let's go over a few basics on domain names.

First off, you want to make sure that your domain name isn't too long.

Keep it short and sweet.

One, two, three words at most.

And you want to try to keep the character count below 15 characters if you can, but never go over 20 characters.

Number two, make sure your domain name is relevant. If it's your name, that's fine. It says who you are.

name. But if it's not, you want to make sure that word is somehow related to your business.

If you have a marketing business, then your domain name needs to say something about marketing.

Number three, you want to make sure that domain name is simple. When I say simple, I mean,

don't include abbreviations, hyphens, or numbers that'll be difficult to remember.

The good rule of thumb is never to use hyphens at all anyways because Google doesn't like that.
