Summary

Which famous author does Dom Joly feel he may have to kill in order to get his perfect job? And why is he compelled to jump off every high perch that he comes across?  And why was he caught in the bathroom of a High Court Judge  semi-clothed? The answers are all in this fabulous podcast, where Dom Joly selects the Five Things that make his life most exciting - and it is an exciting life. The show takes us across the globe, through dangers and back out the other side to silliness and nonsense.  To celebrate 25 years since Trigger Happy TV hit our screens, Dom Joly is bringing his most iconic characters and sketches to the stage in the Trigger Happy TV – Live! 25th-anniversary tour. Fans will experience beloved moments from the show, including The Giant Snail, The Traffic Warden, The Morris Dancer, The Scout, A Gang of Squirrels, and THAT Big Mobile Phone.  There are dates across Britain in different cities across October so get your tickets now and find out more by clicking HERE.  As always we recorded a whole second show with Dom where he answered some marvellous questions from our Patreon listeners. You can get that show and the whole catalogue of back-episodes (there’s hours and hours of listening for you in there!) check out our Patreon offering at this link: patreon.com/RussellHoward   Lovely to have you here, you’ve been an impeccable guest, please come around any time. That bit where you spat on the dog was a bit weird but I assume it was some private grievance between the two of you.  Producer: Dan Atkinson Line Producer: Daisy Knight Exec Producer: James Taylor Composer: Fat Lady Music Learn more about your ad choices. i'm really well doing as little work as possible um and i'm just really lucky with my hair, actually. I'm quite pleased. My hair's, now I'm getting some grey bits of grey because before people would accuse me of dying it, which really irritated me. So you were willing the grey? I was kind of, I just wanted a little bit of great. So you felt authentic? Yeah, just so I felt so I could like disprove them or just to say I had really complex, you know, hair dying regime. But also just for a bit of gravitas, gives you a little bit of gravitas. Yeah, I know you mean. Instantly it gives you that kind of like sort of cluny-esque vibe. Yeah, I mean, I'm an ex-Goth. So I'm more kind of, I'm just, I'm aging better than Robert Smith basically at the moment, because I'm going to keep my hair. As much as I love Robert Smith, I don't want to offend the goth master in any way. No, but it's, it kind of adds to the, to his allure, though, doesn't it? I don't know. He looks like he's melting. It's kind of great. I mean, I don't want to kick this off by being rude about Robert Smith because I love Robert Smith more than anything else in the world,

but I have to say, I've met him, like, you know, because I was a got got him a got got a goth community. You're never an ex-Goth. I got kicked out the goth community when I was about 21 for being slightly too cheerful, but you don't like lose it. And then I got him to do cameos in a couple of things after Trigger Happy, because I just wanted to meet him. And they were very complicated cameos that all went wrong. First time I met him when I was filming, we were filming a scene outside Maribund Registry Office, and he took me in his car from the office because I was so excited talking to him. And I was just so couldn't believe I was talking to my total hero when we got to Marlbman registry office I opened the door of his chauffeur driven car on the side of the street and a lorry just sheared the door off so of course he thought this was a trigger happy joke which it wasn't then the second time he came and did a gig on one of my shows. And then we ended up going to the pub and then we were drunk.

And then he said, oh, let's go somewhere else.
