0:43.1	Merrick Garland and the deputy attorney general Lisa Monaco back in June of 2021. It is paying
0:50.3	dividends. They are currently the Department of Justice's task force 9 and 0 in cases that
0:56.9	they brought and what it brings to the fore for us to discuss here on this hot take is that election
1:03.2	workers and the election community is under attack primarily by right wing mega extremists who have
1:11.2	lost any shred of civility right. The social contract for them was ripped up long ago and has been
1:18.8	tried over by Donald Trump and they have followed right over it. And any aspect of our democracy
1:26.0	and the integrity of our election system and the weaponization of protests about our election
1:32.4	system is not going to be tolerated by the Department of Justice as they go after both to protect
1:37.8	election workers from threats of death and physical violence and they protect our democracy.
1:43.6	This is why elections matter because there was never such thing as the election
1:48.4	threats task force protecting election workers until Joe Biden was elected and Merrick Garland
1:54.1	became his attorney general. I mean sure this crimes on the books that protect election workers
2:00.6	and any human being from being threatened but it rises the level of a federal crime and now you
2:06.4	have a task force within the Department of Justice that is dedicated to rooting out this type of
2:14.5	violent extremism and to protect the most vulnerable of people people sitting in and around election
2:21.4	offices just doing their civic duty to make sure our democracy stays on even keel. One of the U.S.
