What's a vegan storm? I don't know what a vegan storm. A vegan storm is a storm of what, Marianne? Like broccoli, tofu? I don't know. Spaghetti. There was some movie like that. Like, uh, except it was meatballs. So it would be vegan meatballs. Cloudy. No, it was. Like, this is getting really. Okay, I'll go back on track.

But let me just say it was vegan meatballs because it was a cartoon.

She is the co-owner of the vegan restaurant, the land of Cush,

co-founder of Vegan Sulfest and Maryland Vegan Restaurant Month,

and the executive director of the Black Vege Society.

That's really amazing. I'm very excited about this interview, Marian. Yeah, it's a great interview.

But first, before we get to that, we're going to check in with Elmira Tanner, who was last on our henhouse on

episode 605 and who is the lead organizer of direct action everywhere, DXE, which is, of course,

a grassroots network of animal rights activists working to achieve revolutionary social and

political change for animals in one generation. Al Mira, thank you so much for joining us.

Welcome to our henhouse. Thanks so much for having me. For those who are not up to date, can you just give us a summary of the events that led to the

recent trial and the charges Wayne Chung was convicted of? Yeah. So it is an extremely

complicated criminal case that dates back to 2018. If you really want to go back, it dates back many years earlier

where our efforts to get Sonoma County in the state of California to actually enforce the law
