All right, everybody. Welcome back to another edition of The Teardown.

My name is Jeff Gluck, and I'm along with my co-host, Jordan Bianchi.

We are motorsports writers here at The Athletic, and today we have watched the race at Talldega Super Speedway, and we are here to talk about that.

Jordan, it was a race where a lot of stuff happened.

I mean, you could sort of seize on a few potential storylines here.

I guess I'm curious just to start off.

What was your single biggest takeaway from the race?

You give yours, I'll give mine, and then we'll sort of go back and talk about each of those if they're different.

I think the biggest takeaway because of the wreck itself was pretty significant.

And I'm talking about Joey Lugano's flip and then probably the in-car camera of Bubba Wall is

basically driving through Ligano. Because of that, I think people are going to be talking about that.

And the fact that afterwards, Joey Lugano was talking about safety

and raised the safety component of, you know, NASCAR needs to do something

and protect the drivers better.

And he was concerned that, you know, the roll bar came down on top of his head.

And he was kind of at a compromising position there.

And if someone would have hit him, we probably would have had another Ryan Newman situation to me based on the

line of questioning after the race based on the accident and based on Lagonal's comments I think this

is going to be what people are going to be talking about this week interesting Interesting. I could see how that could be. For me, though, I think what I'll sort of take away

from today is that this was a race where for much of the event, you had a bunch of guys up there

who hadn't won this year, some who had never won a race, and it really was shaping up to be sort of that classic

you know, Michael McDowell situation, upset winner. Here's a guy that snatches away a
