And his latest move to overhaul the federal workforce, President Donald Trump is now asking

for the names of lower performing employees.

The Office of Personal Management sent a memo to department leaders yesterday, wanting

information on workers who received less than, quote, fully successful performance ratings over the last

three years. Meanwhile, the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency is facing growing

legal action over the information it's gaining access to. Multiple lawsuits are challenging the

alleged actions taken by Musk associates to seize the keys of IT systems at some government departments

and agencies.

And as Wired Reporter Victoria Elliott explains, it's not clear what the engineers are doing

with the data once they gain access.

We don't know if they're taking data and using it to train AI systems or using AI to analyze it.

And like, that's a whole other issue around privacy and government data

that needs to be examined more thoroughly.
