How did you go about getting the opportunity to write a book about fitness?

Was it just something you decided to do or?

No, actually, it was an interest in fitness that led me into medical school in the first

place and that's always been an interest all the way through high school, college, medical

school, residency and onward.

I knew that I had always wanted to own a gym or an exercise facility at some point.

In 1997, I opened a personal training center conducting high intensity exercise and I always

thought that the value of high intensity exercise was pretty severely underrated and that's

what ultimately led me to write the book.

I wrote the book to have something that I wanted to read.

So many times when I go into the bookstore looking for something interesting, I walk out
