0:12.1	Right now we're going through the first book of the Bible, Genesis.
0:15.0	Imagine with me for a moment that you've just experienced incredible relational hurt.
0:21.0	You felt betrayed by a friend. incredible relational hurt.
0:22.6	You felt betrayed by a friend, or maybe a family member has made cutting remarks at you.
0:28.5	Maybe you've been the one to harm another and you feel the sting of guilt and regret.
0:33.0	And in that time, you have a vulnerable conversation with a friend.
0:38.0	And as you're talking to them about the turmoil that you're experiencing,
0:41.0	they offer up the encouragement that, well, time will heal all wounds.
0:47.2	It sounds good, doesn't it?
0:49.1	If I just keep my head down, if I can just keep living my life and moving forward eventually this won't hurt
0:55.6	Eventually I'll forget eventually I won't remember that this ever happened it sounds good because it feels like an easy fix
1:03.2	It doesn't ask much of me.
1:05.0	I don't have to face what happened.
1:06.5	I don't have to face my own sin or the sin of others.
1:09.5	I don't have to address the brokenness.
1:11.2	I can just keep my head down and eventually healing will come.
1:15.8	The problem though is that time can't heal all wounds.
1:21.0	While some people think that this phrase has its roots in the proverbs, it's not found anywhere in scripture.
1:26.0	It's not biblical because it's not true.
1:29.0	Time alone does not have the power to heal anything.
