Not only he said would former Islamic lands like Spain and Rome soon be retaken by Islam, but the entire world eventually would fall to Islamic

military rule. Now predictions of Western humiliation like this one are of

course nothing new. To radical Islam the West has always been a source of corruption and

perversion, the source in fact, that infects the rest of the world. This, despite

all that the West has given the world from free markets to voting rights to universal education to liberty of conscience

among other things.

In fact, by nearly every measure societies that embrace Western principles that are derived

from Christian and Enlightenment ideas have fared far better than those that have not.

And of course, as many have noted, the flow of immigration between Western and non-Western nations

trends strongly in a singular direction.

And yet despite this, the West is in a profound identity crisis, much to the delight of

anti-West ideologues.

From Pride parades every June to intellectual elites, including one sitting

member of the US Supreme Court who claimed to not know what a woman is, Western society

is increasingly unhitching itself from those traditional beliefs and values that grounded its understanding of human dignity.

Put differently, by Osginis, we are a cut-flower civilization, and this detachment from the roots that brought the world such

blessings only leaves Western sins that much more pronounced and obvious. In fact one

result of Western success has been that Christianity is increasingly being exiled from the culture it created.
