I just did that debate last week in Austin for the free press and fire, the foundation for individual rights and expression.

The topic of the debate was, does the West need a religious revival?

Of course, my answer was no.

This was at the Paramount Theater in Austin Beautiful Theater. It was about 2,000 seat,

standing room only audience. Barry Weiss and the free press plus fire, they have a huge audience.

So that was really nice. My debate partner was Adam Carolla, the atheist, conservative, comedian, and podcaster, who is just an amazing guy, just really quite colorful and thoughtful and intelligent and a great storyteller. And he was funny. I think that's one reason we won the debate. And we were up against Ian Herorsi Alley, who you all know, of course,

and Ross Douthit from The New York Times. He has a new book out called A Believer. He's coming

on the show, so it will be, no, not Believer, believe, why everyone should be religious.

I read the book. He's coming on the show to discuss it, so I'll not address those claims here.

The topic of the debate, again, was,

does the West need a religious revival?

But more or less, it's something like, why is there such a increase in depression, anxiety,

and suicides and homicides and all the bad things going on in America today, supposedly.

And these bad things seem to correlate with the decline

of religiosity, that is, say, the rise of the nuns. Anyway, I got into this a little bit,

but the data showed that, in fact, it's not like atheism. America has become an atheist nation,

not at all. It just went from like 90% believing in

God to 75% believing in God and like 80% being religious to 60% being religious. So it's not
